The Clothing Connection provides clothing to Salem children. Working with schools and caregivers, we choose clothing with each child’s sensory and style preferences in mind. In early childhood and elementary schools, we use a forms model, allowing staff and caregivers to request exactly what a child needs/wants. In middle and high school we use a closet model, allowing teenagers to choose their clothes.

North Shore Breakers is a nonprofit girls softball organization that relies on fundraisers. North Shore Breakers makes sure that no player is left behind by assisting players obtain uniforms and equipment as well as participate in tournaments. They have players on scholarship so no one is turned away from playing competitive softball. All of the coaching staff are volunteers. North Shore Breakers will use the funds for uniforms for the players for 2022.

(C2H) is a unique service dog training program specializing in guided/assisted self-training of service dogs working with combat veterans from all wars who are suffering and diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or Military Sexual Trauma (MST). Our experienced professional all-volunteer training staff works with the Veteran and their dog to train and certify them as a service dog team to perform tasks and help alleviate many of the symptoms combat Veterans battle daily.

Newhall Fields Community Farm is an agricultural gem in an urban setting for all of us to visit, cultivate, and enjoy. Accessible and beautiful, it fosters community spirit and encourages ‘learning on the land’ by cultivating farmland, preparing soil, planting seeds, raising and harvesting food, volunteering, educating, and hosting community events. Between May and October of 2020, Newhall Fields Community Farm has donated over 1,720 pounds of produce to Haven from Hunger.

Acord Food Pantry was founded in 1991 with the mission of empowering individuals and families to feed themselves in a nutritionally balanced way. We are a green, nondenominational, grassroots organization supporting the residents of Essex, Hamilton, Ipswich, Manchester, Topsfield and Wenham. We are a fully self-supported pantry and fill our shelves through food and monetary donations: as well as private, business and community grants. We serve our clients with the help of over 120 volunteers each month.

July 2020 Recipient

Citizens Inn breaks the patterns of instability that lead to homelessness and hunger for every individual served. They currently house 35 families experiencing homelessness at the Inn Between and Inn Transition and feed thousands of families from the North Shore who are food insecure at their Haven from Hunger food pantry and meals program. This gift will go to immediate use towards additional expenses due to COVID-19.

The Friends of the Sawyer Free Library are the recipients of our January Cranney Cares $1000 donation! The Friends provide funding for local adult, teen and children’s programs. They also provide discounted tickets for area museums, the New England Aquarium, and Massachusetts Parks.
